Fetch Review: The Most Comprehensive Pet Insurance?

James James updated on 24 October 2022

Did you know that 20% of cats in Canada die from upper respiratory diseases? And did you know that with pet insurance these diseases are usually preventable as they will be caught by a vet at an early stage? Despite this only around 10% of Canadians have pet insurance and most owners will only seek to buy insurance once their pets are already sick.

In this short review we introduce Fetch pet insurance, give you the pros and cons and help you decide if it is right for you.

Fetch pet insurance review

Fetch pet insurance may be a new player in the Canadian pet insurance scene but it brings a wealth of experience from its previous incarnation as Petplan. Fetch by the Dodo, combines both Petplan's experience and the Dodo's wide knowledge of animal healthcare problems and consumer needs.

Fetch has taken innovative decisions to focus on the app and website-based estimations for your pets. This allows you to adapt your plan to your pet's specific needs and save. There is no need to pay the same premiums for a Great Dane as for a terrier! With highly flexible policies and a great range of add-ons, you can find the policy that suits your and your companion's specific needs.

Who owns Fetch pet insurance?

Fetch was founded in 2003 by husband and wife Chris and Natasha Asherton and had an exclusive license from Petplan to operate in the United States. Since 2019 the CEO has been Paul Guyardo.
